Zimbabwe's announcement of increased efforts to produce biodiesel might seem progressive in any other context. The recurrent mention of Pres. Robert Mugabe in the announcement suggests, however, that the projects are just another ploy to pacify another segment of the population and legitimize the dictatorship. One can only wonder what modest share of the proceeds (70%, 80%...?) will be placed in Mugabe's overseas accounts - for the security and well being of the people, of course.
